Potomac State College, a division of West Virginia University, located in Keyser, W.V., seeks qualified candidates committed to excellence in teaching and service at the undergraduate level in the following areas:
English: Instructor or Assistant Professor, tenure track. A master’s degree or doctorate in English or an MFA degree in writing is required. Teaching responsibilities include English composition and rhetoric, developmental English courses, and literature courses. Successful candidates will focus their letter of interest on composition teaching experience, course work in teaching composition, and interest in the two-year college mission. (Job 1410)
Mathematics: Instructor or Assistant Professor, tenure track. A minimum of a master’s degree in mathematics is required. Teaching responsibilities include college algebra, trigonometry, and calculus through elementary differential equations. (Job 1420)
Elementary Education: Instructor or Assistant Professor, visiting. A minimum of a master’s degree in elementary education or related field is required with a minimum of three years of elementary school teaching experience. Preference will be given for teacher-education experience in higher education. Teaching responsibilities include upper- and lower-division courses in education. (Job 1430)
All positions may require online and off-campus teaching such as Early Start classes.
All positions are full-time, nine-month with benefits with a starting date of August 16, 2014. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

-Potomac State College of West Virginia University is accepting applications for a 9-month, 37.5 hours/week position in the Student Health Center for a Nurse Practitioner. Position requires an interest in urgent care and continuity care of college population of 1800, with competence in diagnosis and treatment of common ambulatory problems and minor office procedures. Experience in college health and women’s health preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing services to Title X WV Family Planning Program, establishing medical diagnoses, prescribing medications for treatment, follow-up evaluation and making appropriate referrals. -Potomac State College of WVU is accepting applications for positions of Residence Life Specialist .5 and .22. These are 10-month live-in positions with salary of $27,305.83. These positions are responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of one or more residence halls as well as supervising a staff of 7-12 paraprofessional and 2-4 housekeeping staff members. These staff members will provide guidance for the emotional, intellectual, physical, occupational and social development of students and staff including responding to a variety of campus and individual student emergencies. The RHC will work on developing a program model for their hall that contributes to the mission and goals of Potomac State College with a focus on customer service towards the students. The RHC is on call 24 hours a day during the academic year with evening and weekend work required.
A Master’s degree is required in a related field (counseling, social work, education, and communications) as well as a driver’s license. The RHC job requires the ability to physically respond on site to emergency or crisis situations.
