Student Accounts

Your account information is available electronically through the STAR Information System. This service is available at http://www.mix.wvu.edu . The accounts receivable information from STAR will give you real-time information about your account. You will be able to view all current charges and see payments applied to your student account, as well. You will also be able to see all your anticipated credits from financial aid and other third-party sources.

What are the benefits of using a paperless billing service?

  • Real-time account status - no more guessing of what is owed due to add/drop in course schedules, pending financial aid disbursements, and contract payments.
  • Online bill payment at your fingertips anytime day or night payment made from your home, office, room, or anywhere the Internet is available.
  • Timely delivery of account information - no more waiting for a paper bill to arrive. Sign on anytime to review your charges/payments and pending credits.
  • Increased customer satisfaction - late charges for missed deadlines can be avoided.

Students are responsible for checking their Mountaineer Information Express (MIX) e-mail account for date-sensitive emails regarding upcoming tuition and fee and/or room and board payment deadlines. Students will also be responsible for checking their student account status on STAR to obtain the correct amount that they owe and to make payments before all due dates if they wish to avoid late penalties.

If a paper bill is necessary, students will have to request this invoice through STAR. Students will be required to select the paper bill option through STAR one time each semester that they are requesting a bill. If someone other than the student is paying for tuition and fees and/or room and board and need a paper bill, it will be the student's responsibility to request that bill for them, as needed. Students who do not opt for a paper bill will be expected to view their account information through STAR and make payments accordingly.

Payment Plans

The TuitionPay Plan from Sallie Mae
Potomac State College offers the TuitionPay Plan to help you avoid large lump-sum payments. You can spread your PSC tuition and college housing expenses over several months -- interest free. Paying monthly is a more affordable option that makes education costs easier to manage.

With TuitonPay, you can enroll in a payment plan beginning May 1 and spread your payments over 12, 11, 10, 9 or 8 months. The earlier you join, the lower your monthly payments will be, because you'll be spreading your total amount due over a longer period of time.  Single semester payment plans are also available.

For more information or to enroll, visit www.tuitionpay.com/wvu or contact our Office of Student Accounts at 304.788.6830.

60/40 Payment Plan
During Fall and Spring semesters, you may participate in Potomac State College's 60/40 Payment Plan.

Tuition and fees may be paid in two installments: 60% of account balance (after financial aid, scholarship, and tuition waiver have been applied) is due prior to the first day of the term; the remaining 40% is due by the end of the 6th week of the term.  Students will need to manually calculate this balance by viewing the "Account Detail By term/Make Payment" section on STAR.

Failure to make minimum payment by the due date will result in a late penalty being assessed. A second late fee will also be assessed for accounts that do not meet the 40% deadline. Additional late fees will then be assessed monthly on unpaid balances.
