Lang Shoots 68 leading Potomac State past Garrett

McHenry, MD-David Lang fired a three under par 68 to take home medalist honors at the Wisp Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.  The 68 tied the lowest score of the year for the Catamounts at 3 under par.  Following the strong performance was Brain Affleck at one over 72, and Jeremy Thompson at 79.

The Catamounts played against Garrett College and Westmoreland Community College in the event.  Neither Garrett nor Westmoreland could post a team score for the event but the Catamounts posted a 303 and received some much needed practice as they prepare for the Region XX Tournament.  "This is the second straight tournament that we have posted a 3 under par," said Head Coach Aaron Edwards.  "The great thing is that it we got good performances from two different players, and if we continue playing well, we have a chance to really post some good scores in the near future.  We have one goal at this time and that is to win the Region XX championship, all the guys have worked hard, and it is finally showing."

The Catamount golf team moved to 13-1 on the spring season and next plays on Thursday at Beaver Creek Country Club.  This is also the site of the Region XX Championship on May 5-6.
