Baseball: Potomac State picks up 30th win with sweep over Catonsville.

Keyser, WV- Potomac State swept a doubleheader over CCBC-Catonsville on Saturday at Golden Park by scores of 7-1 and 10-6.

In the opener Evan Mitchell improved to 10-1 with four innings of work.  The sophomore allowed just one unearned run, striking out one.  Derrick Snider and Kyler Brown pitched the final three innings and did not allow a run.

Malik Brown led the Catamount offense with three runs batted in, while Matt Jeffery, Matt Maiers and Fraser Brown each added an RBI.

In Game two, Potomac State rebounded from a 4-0 1st inning deficit to complete the sweep.

Russell Schwertfeger drove in four runs with a double and a triple, while Andrew Kowalo connected for his fifth home run of the season to lead PSC.

Fraser Brown added a single, double and an RBI.

Ryan Hedrick picked his first win of the season with three solid innings of shutout baseball.  Hedrick came in in the second inning, with runners at first and second and was able to pitch out of the inning without giving up a run, and then added two more scoreless innings by getting nine straight outs.

The sweep improves Potomac State to 30-8.

The Catamounts host Hagerstown Community College on Sunday at Golden Park to wrap up the regular season.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
