Baseball: Walk-Off winner highlights GOLD RUSH split with Monroe

Keyser, WV- A busy day at Golden Park featured a former Major League player, giveaways, including a 32”HDTV and a walk off winner during GOLD RUSH 2015.

Former Catamount Mike Duvall, who later that night was inducted into the Potomac State College Athletic Hall of Fame highlighted the day with a ceremonial first-pitch that preceded a 5-4 extra-inning win for Potomac State.

Matt Jeffery delivered a two-out single to right field that scored Malik Brown with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth in front of a large crowd at Golden Park.

Andrew Kowalo finished with a home run, double and a single, driving in two runs to lead PSC.  Daniel Kerwin also added a double and two singles.

Sam Vincenzo pitched six solid innings allowing three earned runs.  Vincenzo was relieved by Drew Hemminger, who went three scoreless innings to pick up the win.

In game two Monroe’s Jose Vargas shut down the Potomac State offense as he threw a complete game three-hitter as Monroe won 10-3.
