Baseball: Little picks up win # 600 in Catamounts sweep

Keyser, WV- Potomac State swept a pair of games over Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday by scores of 7-0 and 12-2.

The sweep of games gave Potomac State Head Coach Doug Little his 600th win as Potomac State Head Coach.

In the opener Andrew Kowalo and Matt Maiers each had three hits and three RBI’s to lead the Catamounts offense.  Matt Jeffery went 1-2 and added three RBI’s of his own as PSC outhit the Wolfpack 11-6.

Drew Hemminger went the first five innings and Chris Schleuss went the final two as the two combined for the shutout.  Hemminger struck out five picking up the win to improve to 2-0.

Fraser Brown added two singles for PSC.

In game two Ryan Kelchner held the WCCC offense in check for four innings to pick up the win.  Kelchner struck out six to increase his record to a perfect 3-0 on the season.

Despite being outhit 9-8, Potomac State made the most of their hits with Matt Jeffery, Jack Ricker and Russell Schwertfeger picking up two hits each.

Malik Brown’s two-run home run ended the game in the sixth, as PSC pushed six runs across the plate to end things early.

Seth Roadcap's two-run double in the first gave PSC the early 2-0 lead.

PSC is now 22-7 and will host Chesapeake College on Sunday for a 12:00 p.m. single game at Golden Park.  This is a schedule change as the game was originally scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
