Potomac State sweeps pair over Hornets

Keyser, WV- Brandon Gochenour and David Delawder each hit a three-run home run to lead Potomac State past Shenandoah University 8-2 in the opening game of their double-header sweep on Saturday.

Dominic Peroni and Joe LaRocca each added two hits as did Delawder and Gochenour as PSC’s 2-5 hitters went 8-14 in the game.

Jeff Wong picked up the win, going five innings and striking out seven.

PSC won game two 11-6.

After spotting the Hornets a 4-0 first inning lead, PSC responded with three runs in the bottom half highlighted by LaRocca’s two-run double.

LaRocca finished the game with three doubles, a single and five runs batted in.  Mitchell Henshaw added a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Sam Aloi picked up the win in relief, working 4 1/3 innings of scoreless work. 

Potomac State, 12-9, will be back in action on Sunday at Golden Park when the play host to Cecil College for a twin bill starting at noon.
