POTOMAC PARK, MD — Ryan Roell and Sebastian Williamson hit home runs and Mitchell Henshaw added a two-run double, lifting Potomac State to a 9-3 win over Allegany Wednesday at Memorial Field.

The Catamounts (15-9) used a pair of big innings to get the win, their sixth in a row. They led 1-0 until the sixth when Dominic Peroni and Joe LaRocca walked before Roell’s two-out homer to left made it 4-0.

The Trojans (14-4) got on the board in the bottom of the seventh when Sam Plafcan reached on an infield error, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch.

The Catamounts answered in the eighth with a five-run inning that put the game away. The big blows were Henshaw’s two-run double and a two-run homer by Williamson. All five runs were unearned because of two ACM errors.

Jesse Hodge singled and scored on a single by Dan Fry in the eighth and Nathan Kerlin singled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Hodge in the ninth for Allegany.

Andrue Hughart allowed four hits, no earned runs, walked one and struck out four in seven innings for the win.

Williamson homered, singled and knocked in two runs and Peroni had two singles and two RBIs for Potomac State. Ryan Myers singled twice for Allegany.

Potomac State plays a twinbill at Shenandoah on Saturday at 1 o’clock.
