Baseball: Potomac State heads to Region XX Tournament

For the third straight game Potomac State will face off with Hagerstown Community College, this time in the 2017 Region XX Baseball Tournament.

Hagerstown, MD- The 2017 Division 1 Baseball Region XX Tournament begins on Sunday at Municipal Stadium, home of the Hagerstown Suns in Hagerstown, MD.

Potomac State College, who last won the Regional Championship in 2015, comes into this year’s tourney as the #2 seed with a record of 27-14.

Harford Community College, won last year’s tournament with an 11-2 win over Potomac State, has blitzed through their schedule again this this year comes in at 47-8-1 and is the #1 seed.

Last season Harford then won the Eastern District Championship to advance to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The host team, Hagerstown Community College is the # 3 seed with a record of 35-17-1 and will face Potomac State in the opening game on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

The Catamounts swept a pair of games this season with Hagerstown, and split a pair of games each with Harford and Chesapeake.

Chesapeake will be the #4 seed with a record of 29-17-1.

Potomac State has won twelve Region XX championships since 2000.
