Baseball: Catamounts win series opener over St. Clair County

Keyser, WV- Zach Musgrove and Juwuan Weaver both homered to lead Potomac State to a 9-1 win over St. Clair County Community College on Saturday afternoon at Golden Park.

Musgrove’s 2-run home run in the first inning gave Potomac State a quick 2-0 lead.  After two quick outs Dominic Peroni walked before Musgrove hit his seventh homer of the spring.

St. Clair scored a run in the third when Darrin Garner, who walked to lead off the inning scored on a wild pitch.

PSC started Tanner Skidmore held the Skippers to just three hits in four innings of work.  The sophomore struck out three to pick up the win to improve to 2-1.

Austin Chavis and Joe Dodrill each had two hits for Potomac State, who improved to 11-4.

Brandon Schamp worked three innings and Chase Weihl worked the final two, with neither allowing a hit.  Schamp struck out four and Weihl one.

PSC out hit SC4 10-4 on the day.

The two teams will complete the three-game series on Sunday at Golden Park with the twin bill slated to begin at noon.
