Catamounts dominate 2008 Division 1 All Region XX Baseball team.

Catonsville, MD- Potomac State had four players listed on the 2008 All Region XX Baseball first team that was announced today by the NJCAA Region XX athletic directors.  The Catamounts also added three players to the second team.

Jacke Healey led the way on the first team as he received the highest amount of votes from fellow coaches in the Region.  The infielder hit .451 on the regular season with ten homeruns and 42 runs batted in.

Nathan Fike picked up the most votes of any pitcher as the sophomore had a 7-0 regulra season with an ERA of 1.65.

Also named to the first team were Kyle Orensky and Matt Schrader.  Orensky hit .385 in the regular season with 36 runs batted in and four homeruns.  Scharder led PSC with 47 runs batted in as the sophomore hit at a .384 clip with five home runs.

Justin Grantham, Brock Stevens, and Andy Altemus were named to the second team.

Grantham, a freshman, hit .372 this season with nine doubles and six stolen bases.  Stevens, who started the season slowly, came on to hit .353 with two home runs and 32 runs batted in.  Altemus had a 5-2 record with a 3.14 ERA.  He struck out 55 in 51 2/3 innings of work.
