Potomac State pushes past Catonsville 16-10 Six-run ninth gives Catamounts 30 wins for 10th straight year Catonsville, MD- After squandering an eight run lead Potomac State rallied for six runs in the ninth inning en route to a 16-10 win over CCBC-Catonsville on Wednesday afternoon. A rain delay had forced the change from a doubleheader to a single game. Kurtis Voytell led PSC with three hits, including his fifth home run of the season, and five runs batted in. Kevin Griffin added a three run home run in the fifth and Scott Davis went 4-4 with two RBIęs to aid in the Catamount 19 hit attack. Andy Berry took a hard-luck no decision after pitching six stellar innings in which the Virginia Beach, VA native allowed just two unearned runs and just five hits. "Andy deserved better", said Head Coach Doug Little. "He really pitched well, and should have had a win. I feel bad for him." Leading 9-2 entering the seventh inning Catonsville responded with four runs in the inning and another four in the eighth highlighted by Eric Weiser's three run home run that tied the game at 10. With the score tied at 10, Brock Porter led off the top of the ninth with a walk, and was replaced by pinch-runner Torian Cyrus. Justin Grantham and Cody Dalton both laid down bunts that went unfielded for hits and loaded the bases. Scott Davis then delivered his fourth hit of the game to score Cyrus. Gary Williams then walked to score Grantham. Dominick Hayes scored Dalton with a sacrifice fly to make the score 13-10. Voytell then put the game out of reach with a three-run home run. "Our hitters really battled today", said Little. "They bailed us out, and never stopped swinging it." Dominick Hayes, Cody Dalton and Voytell each finished with three hits. The win marks the 10th straight year that Potomac State has won 30 games. Potomac State will wrap up their regular season with a doubleheader at Golden Park against Cecil College (24-19) set for Saturday at 1PM.
