Potomac State Baseball Team Posts 3.07 GPA

KEYSER, WV- The Potomac State College Baseball team has had its share of success on the field including eight Region XX Championships in the last ten years.  This fall semester, the baseball team continued to impress as they proved they were truly student-athletes with an impressive 3.07 team grade point average.

The team GPA included nineteen players earning a 3.0 GPA or better.

Potomac State College Dean's list recognition is given to students with a GPA of 3.0-3.699 or higher each semester. To be eligible for the Provost's List, a student must earn a 3.7 to 4.0 grade point average while maintaining a full-time student status.

"We are very pleased with the efforts of our players this fall," Head Baseball Coach Doug Little said. "It is a credit to hard work, time-management and understanding that baseball is just one part of their lives.

Little acknowledged that having success in the classroom is also due to the college's support that is in place to assist all students at Potomac State.  "This says a lot about Potomac State College and the support we receive from our administration, faculty and our support services.  For several seasons we have instituted our 'front three rows' system for our players, where it is mandatory for the baseball players to sit in the first three rows in all of their classes."

Players who were named to the Provost's List are: Jeremiah Bowman, Josh Cox and Tim Spore.

Players who had a 3.0 GPA or better are: Tyler Bailey, Jacob Bowman, Nic Coucoules, Jason Driver, Reece Duncan, Cody Ellsworth, Brian Forester, Jacob Harmer, Mason Hershey, Colin Lyons, David McNeil, Corey Napier, Joe Sellitto, Andy Smithmyer, Mike Virbickis and Kurtis Voytell.
