Former Catamount Garcia pitches Number 1 Miami to World Series.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Enrique Garcia pitched six effective innings as Miami defeated Arizona 4-2 and won their Super Regional Series Sunday night.

Garcia, who pitched Potomac State to back to back JUCO World Seriesı in 2005 and 2006, threw 90 pitches, (62 for strikes) as he picked up the win to improve his record to 7-2 on the season.

Miami's three first inning runs stood as the Hurricanes (52-9) won the series two games to one and advanced to their 23rd College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

"It was a very a tough Super Regional," Miami head coach Jim Morris said. "Every game came down to the end."It's great to know we're going back to Omaha."

Garcia, who hails from Mechanicsville, MD, walked just one while striking out 4 Arizona hitters as he allowed just two runs, one of which was unearned.

The Hurricanes will be the top seed at the NCAA Division World Series in Omaha, Nebraska beginning on Saturday June 14.
