Catamounts gain split on the road, again.
Catonsville, MD-- In what is becoming a habit, Potomac State followed a very familiar theme on Sunday at CCBC-Catonsville by losing a close game one and winning a crucial game two to gain another doubleheader split on the road.
PSC lost game 1 by a score of 5-3, before winning game 2 by a 7-3 margin.
Sophomore Pat Adkins raised his record to 2-0 by pitching 4 2/3 innings allowing three runs while striking out four. Joe Stupka threw 2 and 1/3 innings of hitless baseball to secure his second save of the year.
Bill Wooten, J.T. Osburn and Eric Saffell each had two runs batted in to lead the Catamounts. Ryan Roweýs pinch hit single in the seventh inning drove in the final run.
Brett McClain (2-4) continued to struggle in game one and took the loss. The sophomore threw a complete game, striking out five, allowed just one walk and gave up eight hits.
Osburn went 3-3 with a two doubles and a single and extended his hitting streak to six games.
