Former Catamount named BIG EAST Pitcher of the week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former Potomac State standout and current West Virginia senior right-handed pitcher Andy Berry has been named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Berry was honored for his performances at Notre Dame last weekend.

A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Berry tossed his first career nine-inning complete game to lead the Mountaineers to an 8-1 victory yesterday. Berry allowed just three hits and one run, while striking out five. Berry threw 113 pitches in his first complete game of the season.

Berry is 5-2 on the season, with 29 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings pitched.
