Keyser, WV- After waiting fifteen hours to conclude their game that was suspended due to darkness at 14-11 in the ninth inning in the winners’ bracket of the Region XX Baseball Tournament, Potomac State made quick work of Harford Community College to move into the Championship game.

Potomac State added an insurance run in the top of the ninth when Jason Driver led off with a walk. He was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from J.K. Filauro, and then to third on a wild pitch. Ben Miller then hit a high chopper that was fielded by the Harford second baseman who threw home. The throw bounced in front of that catcher and Driver was able to score to make the score 15-11.

In the bottom of the ninth, Ben Miller walked Matt Gray to open the inning. He then retired Nick Octavi on a fly ball that was tracked down by Marquese Jones in deep centerfield. Miller then was able to induce a groundball to second baseman J.K. Fliauro who flipped to Jason Driver who threw onto first to end the game.

Potomac State will now face Anne Arundel Community College who upset top seed Harford Community College in the loser’s bracket.
