Little Named ABCA Eastern District Coach of Year
Keyser, WV. - Potomac State College Head Baseball Coach Doug Little has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association's NJCAA Eastern District Coach of the Year, as announced by the ABCA.
Little earned the ABCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time in eight seasons; he also was the ABCA's pick in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Potomac State finished the season with a near school-record 38 wins, (PSC won 41 games in 2006), while racking up a 38-12 record, including a 22-1 home mark at Golden Park. PSC won their final eight games of the regular season.
Potomac State was ranked 16th in the final NJCAA poll and captured their 10th Region XX Championship since 2000.
PSC won its third straight Region XX title with wins against ASA, Harford Community College and Anne Arundel Community College before downing Pitt Community College in a thrilling NJCAA Eastern District Championship series to earn a berth in the program's fourth NJCAA Division 1 JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, where the Catamounts finished third before falling to the number one team in the country Central Arizona.
The Catamounts had one player named All-American, marking the 10th straight season that Potomac State has had a member of the NJCAA All-American team and the fourteenth player named All-American since 2000. PSC also had five players named to the All-Region XX team.
