Former Baseball Coach Rotruck to be inducted to PSC Athletic Hall of Fame

KEYSER - Former Potomac State Head Baseball Coach Craig A. Rotruck will be inducted into the Potomac State College of West Virginia University Athletic Hall of Fame during the awards banquet on Saturday, April 16 at the Davis Conference Center.

Rotruck joined the Potomac State baseball coaching staff in 1992 as an assistant coach under Jack Reynolds. The team advanced to the NJCAA playoffs in 1993 and 1994. After taking over as head coach in 1995, Craig led the team to their third straight World Series appearance where they won the NJCAA National Titl Craig Rotruck e. He served as head coach until 1997 with a record of 113-26.

In 1995, Rotruck received four separate honors of being named ‘Coach of the Year’ from: NJCAA Division II Baseball, District F NJCAA Baseball, Diamond Sports NJCAA Baseball and Region XX Baseball. 

In 1996, he received the ‘Dapper Dan Award’ for National NJCAA Baseball Coach of the Year and was inducted into Frostburg State University’s ‘Hall of Fame’ where he set records as a player, while a student there.

In addition, Rotruck has coached six NJCAA All-Americans, 11 MLB drafted players and one MLB professional player.

Rotruck and his wife, Kim, have two sons, Derek and Brad, and a daughter, Madison.
