Potomac State Baseball blows past Genesee 16-6

Keyser, WV- On a windy day at Golden Park, Potomac State College was able to hold down Genesee College for a 16-6 win in college baseball action Friday afternoon.
T.J. Weisenburg led Potomac State with three hits and two runs batted in.
Jake Potter, Steve Miele and Fabio Arcelay each added two hits for the Catamounts who banged out thirteen hits.
Genesee jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on an RBI double from Bryon Depew, but Potomac State answered with a five-run first inning. The opening frame was highlighted by an RBI triple from Potter, and run producing doubles from Joel Rosencrance and Miele.
Genesee got a second inning from Jose Garcia to cut the PSC lead to 5-4.
Zach Stolipher hit a solo home run for the Catamounts in the bottom of the second inning.
Brennen Miller picked up the win for the Catamounts. He worked 4 1/3 innings and struck out four. Billy Demersky made his debut on the 2012 season and picked up the save with 3 2/3 innings of stellar work. The southpaw struck out six and did not allow an earned run.
“Billy did a great job out of the bullpen and ate up some innings,” said Head Coach Doug Little. “He kept their hitters off balance and allowed our hitters to add some runs.”
Potomac State will be at home again on Saturday with a doubleheader with Sinclair Community College. First pitch is slated for 1:00p.m.
