Keyser, WV- Potomac State's Joel Rosencrance delivered the biggest hit of the season for the Catamounts as the sophomore hit a two-run walk off home run in the opening game of PSC's doubleheader with Harford Community College Sunday at Golden Park.

The two run blast gave Potomac State a 6-5 win and a big win for a Catamount club that has spent much of the season letting games slip away.

"To win that game was huge for us,:"said Head Coach Doug Little. "Harford has a premier program and has been flying high all season, for us to battle and win this game is big for our team."

Harford, (23-7) would rebound in game two 8-3 to earn the split.

In the opener PSC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on a wild pitch and RBI singles from Ryan LaRose and Rosencrance.

Harford would answer to take a 4-3 lead with two runs in each the third and fourth innings on RBI's from James Wilson, Dennis Mitchell and a two run triple from Anthony Ortiz.

PSC tied the game in the bottom of the fourth when Zach Markel walked with the bases loaded. PSC could have added more but Harford starter Taylor Nelson struck out LaRose and Jake Potter with the bases loaded to end the inning.

The Owls took the lead in the fifth when Cory Shaver lined a pitch off the PSC first baseman to score pinch runner Jack Davis.

Harford threatened to extend the lead in the seventh but Potomac State's Jordan Bray, working his second inning of relief struck out Shaver with runners at first and third to end the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh LaRose led off the inning and drew a walk from Harford southpaw Brandon Franke. Fabio Arcelay entered the game as a pinch runner. Potter then sacrificed Arcelay to send with a bunt. With Rosencrance now at the plate Arcelay moved to third on a wild pitch. Two pitches later Rosencrance lofted his first home run of the season down the line that cleared the fence and gave PSC the win.

"I just took a deep breath before the pitch to relax and refocus:, said Rosencrance. "I told myself to 'not let him beat me inside', he tried to get a fastball by me and I just got the barrel on it."

In game two Harford's Jason Seitler scattered six hits in 5 1/3innings pitched while striking out five to raise his record to 5-1 on the year.

In much the same fashion as PSC did in game one, Harford took a 3-0 lead in the first inning in game two aided by two hit batsman and an RBI single from James Wilson.

Jim Jerminski hit a two run home run in the fifth inning and Norm Donkin added an RBI single as HCC added five runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

PSC's Rosencrance added a solo home run in the second.

Potomac State, (11-13) will travel to McHenry, MD for a doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 3PM.
