Baseball: Potomac State falls in extra innings to Sumter

Catamounts drop third straight one-run game at Pepsi Invitational

Florence, SC- USC Sumter's Austin Meyer doubled in Trevor Bradley in extra innings to propel the Fire Ants past Potomac State 5-4 at the Pepsi Invitational in Florence, SC.

The loss drops Potomac State to 0-3, with all three losses being one-run games.

Sumter took a 3-0 lead in the second inning on three unearned runs and tacked n another run in the third when Will Thompson tripled to open the inning and scored later on a passed ball.

Potomac State answered with four runs in the fourth inning highlighted by an RBI double from Zach Stolipher and a two-run single from Mike Eisel.

Scott Fox added three hits and scored a run for Potomac State.

Potomac State travels back to Florence, SC for the second straight week to complete the Pepsi Invitational starting on Friday.
