Potomac State Baseball sweeps pair over Shenandoah

Winchester, VA- Brandon Cordell delivered a complete game effort in game one and Tre Porter drove in four runs in game two as Potomac State swept a pair of games over Shenandoah by scores of 8-4 and 10-6 on Thursday.

Cordell raised his record to 2-0 working his first complete game of the year.  The freshman struck out three and scattered seven hits to pick up the win.

Frankie Wilson and Elliott McCummings both drove in two runs apiece for PSC.  Zach Stolipher and Davis Kimbrough each picked up an RBI with singles for PSC. 

Potomac State outhit the Hornets 11-7.

In game two Porter drove in four runs with two singles and a triple.

Stolipher hit his first home run of the season with a two run shot to deep right field in the third inning.

Mike Eisel, making his first start of the season, picked up the win on the mound.  The sophomore struck out six Hornet hitters and allowed just one run in five innings of work.

Potomac State, 12-8, returns home on Friday with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against Garrett College at Golden Park.
