Potomac State falls to Heartland in final day of Pepsi Invitational

Florence, SC- An eight-run second inning proved to be the downfall for Potomac State as they fell 10-2 to Heartland Community College on Sunday at the Pepsi Invitational at Francis Marion University.

During the second inning HCC scored eight runs, seven of which were unearned. Those runs proved to be more than enough as HCC's Jacob Herndon picked up the win. The southpaw allowed one run over four innings, struck out eight, walked one and gave up eight hits.

In all Potomac State outhit the Hawks 12-8, but also committed three errors; all of which happened in the second inning.

Elliott McCummings and Ron Musto led Potomac State with two hits apiece.

The Catamounts, now 3-4 will play at home on Thursday against Region III Genesee Community College for a single game at 2PM.
