Potomac State rolls over Garrett for doubleheader sweep

McHenry, MD- Potomac State scored in nine of fourteen innings as they swept a pair of games over Garrett College Saturday afternoon by the scores of 8-4 and 12-2.

In the opener Ron Musto drove in three runs and four other catamounts drove in a run to pace the offensive attack. Connar Bastaich went 3-4 for PSC, adding two singles, a double and a run batted in.

Mason Fordyce worked five solid innings of relief to pick up the win for PSC. The lanky freshman struck out four and walked three.

Potomac State benefitted from six base on balls from Garrett pitching as both teams banged out nine hits.

In game two the Catamounts continued to swing the bats well as they outhit the Lakers 18-6. David Kimbrough drove in three runs with a single and a triple. Elliott McCummings, Tre Porter and Scott Fox each drove in two runs for Potomac State who improved to 23-10.

Sam Vincenzo picked up the win, as the freshman worked six innings striking out eight Garrett hitters. He allowed just two runs, both of which were unearned.

Allan Bencid delivered a two run double for Garrett.

Potomac State who has won ten straight games will travel to Hagerstown Community College on Sunday for a key Region XX matchup. The nine inning game is scheduled to begin at 1:00p.m.
