Baseball: Catamounts win streak ends with split against Monroe

Keyser, WV- After claiming a 12-6 win in the opener, Potomac State saw its thirteen game winning streak as they fell to Monroe College 5-3.

In the opener Sam Vincenzo pitched six solid innings to lift Potomac State to the win.  The freshman struck out five and walked two to improve his mark to 5-1 on the year.

Jamison Jones and Alex Levitan banged out three hits apiece for PSC.

David Kimbrough and Elliott McCummings each drove in two runs for the Catamounts who took advantage of six Monroe errors.

In game two Potomac State held a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning but were unable to hold the lead. 

Jones hits a two-run home run to give PSC the lead, but Monroe rallied for a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the win.

Mason Fordyce took the loss for Potomac State, allowing five runs, all of which were earned. 

Potomac State26-11 will be back at Golden Park on Sunday for a key Region XX matchup with Chesapeake College.  The single nine-inning game begins at 2PM.
