Catamounts strong early, weak late results in split with Mercyhurst NE

Keyser, WV-Tanner Everton delivered a complete game effort on the mound for Potomac State as the Catamounts took the opening game of their doubleheader with Mercyhurst NE by a score of 5-2 Saturday at Golden Park.

The sophomore struck out eight and walked none allowing just five hits to raise his record to 2-2.

Ron Musto drove in two runs and Tre Porter and Tre Kerns also drove in runs to pace the Catamount attack.

In the nightcap, nine errors by the Catamounts proved to be their undoing as they fell to the saints 9-4.

PSC led 4-2 heading into the sixth inning when seven unearned runs gave the lead to MNE.

Saturday’s doubleheader with Mercyhurst NE was canceled due to the weather forecast.

PSC will play again on Thursday in Washington, PA at CONSOL Stadium versus CCAC-South.
