Keyser, WV- Potomac State Baseball will be heading on the road in search of their eleventh Region XX Championship in the last fourteen years.

Potomac State College will open the 2013 Region XX Tournament on Friday when they travel to Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown, MD to face the number 4 seed Harford Community College at 1:00 pm in the second game of the tourney.

Harford and Potomac State split a doubleheader this season at Ripken Stadium on May 3. Potomac State took the opener 5-2 when Sam Vincenzo's complete game effort gave PSC the win. In game two Harford bounced back with an 7-4 victory behind the efforts of left-hand pitcher Nick Stallings who scattered eight hits in 6.1 innings while striking out twelve to earn the win.

The first two games of the tournament will take place Friday. Harford Community College (33-19*), the fourth seed, and the defending Region XX Champs, faces the number one seed Potomac State College (35-14), who are ranked #18 in the latest NJCAA Divsion 1 Baseball poll at 1:00 p.m. That game will be preceded by the number two seed Chesapeake College (28-16) against the number three seed Hagerstown Community College (30-25) at 10:00 a.m.

(* After a routine eligibility review completed on May 3, 2013, in conjunction with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), it was determined that two student-athletes on the Harford Community College baseball team did not meet NJCAA eligibility requirements. This led to the forfeiture of 31 wins in which the student-athletes participated. The team remains eligible to compete in postseason play. Their official record now stands at 2-50.)  Harford had been the 2nd seed, but will now be the 4th seed for the Region XX Tournament.

The winner of the double-elimination tournament will then host the NJCAA Eastern District Baseball Tournament beginning May 17 against the winner and runner-up from Region X and the winner from Region XV.

The winner of the District finals will advance to the 2013 Alpine Bank Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. Potomac State went to the 2011 series where they finished third. PSC also went to three straight JUCO World Series in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and with Hagerstown Community College's trip in 2008, the Eastern District has been represented by a Region XX school five of the last nine years.
