Fox lifts Potomac State over Sinclair to pick up split

Xenia, OH- Scott Fox pitched six innings of shutout baseball to lift Potomac State to a 6-0 win over Sinclair Community College in the three-game series finale.

Potomac State got multiple RBI's from Zach Stolipher and Tre Porter and a solo home run from Ron Musto to provide more than enough runs for Fox.

Fox walked no Tartan Pride hitters, struck out five and allowed just three base hits to raise his record to 2-0.

Porter got on base three times in the game for PSC. He scored two runs and had two RBIs. He singled in the sixth inning.

Potomac State College jumped on top in the first inning, scoring two runs on a two-run double by Zach Stolipher.

In the opening game on Sunday, Sinclair withstood a late rally from the Catamounts for a 4-3 win.

Craig Koehler got the win for Sinclair Community College. He allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings. Koehler struck out five, walked four and gave up three hits.

After a scoreless three innings, Potomac State College finally got on the board with one run in the fourth. Potomac State College scored on an RBI single by Elliott McCummings.

Sinclair Community College stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fifth, scoring two runs on a two-run home run by Nick McGill.

Sinclair Community College added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Jonathan Lowe started the inning with a single, plating Austin Downing. That was followed up by Lance Straley's double, scoring Lowe.

A two-run seventh inning helped bring Potomac State College within one. Base hits by Connar Bastaich and Mike Eisel and a sacrifice fly by Scott Fox triggered Potomac State College's comeback. The game ended when Sinclair induced a game ending double play with the tying run at third base.

Potomac State, 4-6 travels to Cecil College on Wednesday for a doubleheader at 1PM. Those games will mark PSC's twelfth straight game on the road.
