Baseball: Pitt’s Majette shuts down Potomac State bats

Florence, SC- Pitt Community College’s Kyle Majette struck out eight hitters in six innings of work as Pitt downed Potomac State 3-0 Friday night at the Pepsi Classic.  The hard-throwing sophomore allowed just two hits to raise his record to 4-0 on the season.  In 18 innings of work this spring Majette has struck out 20 hitters.

Zach Holton’s two run single in the fourth inning proved to be the game winner for Pitt.

Pitt improved to 8-1.

Billy Sager and Andrew Kowalo had hits for PSC.

Dalton Westfall took the loss for PSC. The freshman struck out three in four innings of work.

Potomac State, 3-2 will be back in action for two games on Saturday at the Pepsi Classic.  At 10:30 the Catamnounts will face off with the host Florence Darlington Tech.  Then at 3:30 PSC will have a rematch with Pitt Community College.
