Baseball: Potomac State sweeps pair at Shenandoah
Winchester, VA- Potomac State pushed their win streak to four with a doubleheader sweep over Shenandoah University Sunday afternoon by scores of 8-3 and 15-4.
PSC outhit the Hornets 28-12 in the twin bill to raise their record to 14-8-1.
In game one Adam Meeker and Tre Kerns had three hits and two RBI’s apiece to pace the Catamount attack.
Tre Porter recorded a single and a double PSC and Billy Sager and Eddie Dutkewcyz each added an RBI single.
Ethan Emmart picked up the win with five solid innings of work. Emmart walked none and allowed just one run, which was unearned.
In game two Elliott McCummings’ first inning three-run home run started the offensive onslaught as PSC scored multiple runs in each inning of the run-rule shortened game. McCummings finished with a game high four runs batted in.
Each Catamount starter recorded at least one hit in the contest.
Korey Foltz led the way with two singles and a home run. Foltz scored three runs to match his three runs batted in. Jamison Jones also recorded three hits and drove in two.
Kyle Elliott worked four innings to pick up his second straight win. The freshman struck out five and allowed just one run.
Potomac State will be back in action on Wednesday when the Catamounts travel to ye Mills, MD for single game with Region XX for Chesapeake College.
