Baseball: Mitchell and Westfall pitch Catamounts to sweep

Keyser, WV- Evan Mitchell and Dalton Westfall each delivered a five-inning complete game effort as Potomac State rolled to a doubleheader sweep over Shenandoah University 10-0 and 11-1.

Mitchell faced just three hitters over the minimum as the freshman struck out four and walked just one.  Mitchell, who allowed just two hits, improves to 5-0 on the season.

Tre Porter led the Catamounts in game one with a single, triple and three runs batted in.

Elliott McCummings and Andrew Kowalo each added two hits for PSC, while Fraser Brown added a two-run double.

In game two Westfall allowed just one unearned run, scattered four hits and struck out three to improve to 4-2.

Porter hit his fifth home run of the year, a two-run shot in the third inning.

Jamison Jones went 3-3 with an RBI and Jamaal Windom added two singles.

On the day Potomac State out hit the Hornets 21-6.

Potomac State, (24-10-1) will be home again on Wednesday for a 2PM doubleheader with Lakeland Community College at Golden Park.
