Potomac State Men's Basketball rolls over Germantown
MCHENRY, MD — Two days after winning a tightly fought contest with Howard Community College, Potomac State College had an easier go-around with Montgomery Germantown, beating the Gryphons 90-66 Saturday in the Railey Realty Classic at Garrett College.
Four Catamounts scored in double figures with Carlton Johnson scoring a game-high 21 points. Ishmail Sesay finished with a dozen points, while Mike Hatfield and Kwanis Hayes both finished with 10 points. Hatfield added eight rebounds and four steals, while Carlton Drake had nine rebounds, five points, three steals and two assists.
Only one player from Germantown managed to score in double figures as Marcus Coleman had 14 points. Sean Adams added nine points.
The Catamounts were ahead 37-26 at halftime, before pulling away from Germantown (53-34) in the second half. During their opener, the Cats held an eight-point lead at halftime, but had to hold on for a one point win over Howard.
