Men's Basketball: Chesapeake too much for Catamounts

KEYSER, W.V. — Akanni Salako recorded a game-high 26 points and Chesapeake converted enough foul shots down the stretch during a 78-75 win Saturday afternoon at Potomac State.

The Skipjacks spent half the time pulling away from the Catamounts, while the other half involved PSC closing that gap. Eventually, Potomac State was forced to foul and Chesapeake was able to pull away out of sheer volume of attempts. The Jacks finished 15-for-29 at the foul line compared to just 6-for-15 from Potomac State.

Salako was joined by two other Skipjacks with more than 10 points. Kevin Bonsu scored 18 points, while Dion Bivens finished with 15.

Former Keyser High School star Peyton Hartman led the Cats with 20 points. George Chase scored 13 before fouling out and Reggie Baker added 11.

Potomac State (4-2) plays Friday and Saturday at Cecil in a Holiday Tournament, facing the hosts on Friday at 7 p.m.
