Potomac State defeats Garrett to claim Tourney

McHENRY, MD — Reggie Baker followed a 33-point performance on Friday with 21 points on Saturday to lead Potomac State past Garrett, 99-73, in the championship of the McDonald’s Tip- Off Classic at Garrett College. Baker and Marcus Banks, who scored a game-high 25 points, were named to the All-Tournament team after combining for almost half of the Catamounts’ points.

The Lakers actually led 44-43 at halftime, but were outscored 56-29 in the second half. Derylton Hill added 15 points for the Cats, and Derondell Jenkins had 14.

Garrett was paced by D.J. Ritchie’s 18 points and got 15 from Frank Holloway. Chris Scarlett added 12 points, and DeAndre Davis also had 12.

Potomac State is at Southern Maryland on Wednesday.
