Men’s Basketball: Garrett tops Potomac State

MCHENRY, MD — Malik Tunc scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Garrett built a 12-point lead at halftime and kept Potomac State pretty much at arm’s length the rest of the way in a 62-48 victory Saturday evening.

Tunc, a 6-foot-7 sophomore from Montauban, France, who was recently named first-team All-JUCO Conference, made six field goals and a pair of free throws in leading the Lakers as they raised their record to 22-5.

Ariel Watson and Elisha Kidd added 11 points each for Garrett, which led 28-16 at halftime.

Justin Milstead had a game-high 25 points for Potomac State (17-7). Nyamekye Hill added nine.

Neither team shot well and the 48 points were a season low for the Catamounts.

Potomac State will return to Garrett for the Region XX Tournament March 10-12.
