Men’s Basketball: Howard spoils PSC's season debut

KEYSER, W.Va. — Potomac State’s Keon Lewis had a game-high 19 points and Deon Tabb followed up with 18 points, but Howard went on a 16-0 run in the second half to defeat Potomac State, 74-69, on Thursday night.

Lewis made eight field goals, including a pair of three-pointers, and a free throw. Tabb converted on seven field goals and went 4 for 5 from the free-throw line. Jordan Stover and Anthony Dean added 10 points apiece and Tim Coward had nine.

Howard also had four players reach double-digit point-scorers, as Geron Brathwaite had 15 points, Jordan Reid and Ardie Dorsey III 12 and Michael Gray 10.

Gray and Reid both had seven points in the second half, while Brathwaite, Dorsey and Zay-Zay Loomis scored six points apiece over the final 20 minutes to fuel the comeback.

Howard led at the half, 36-34, but the Catamounts led by 12 with eight minutes to go before Howard’s 16-0 run.

Potomac State (0-1), who had 29 turnovers, will play Pittsburgh Community College on Saturday, 4 p.m., at Patrick Henry in Purcellville, Virginia.
