This season Shawn White will begin his 4th season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Potomac State College of WVU. White also serves as the Athletic Director at PSC and oversees all aspects of the department that has eight varsity teams, and over 120 student-athletes.
White took over the reigns as the Head Coach of the fledgling Catamount's basketball team in June 2005 and guided the young squad through a tough 6 -16 season. His goals were to build a program that would produce quality student-athletes that had a mission to work in the classroom as well as on the court.
The 2006 - 2007 squad was much improved as their record was 13 -14 as White's vision of the program began to take shape.
The 2007 - 2008 season brought Coach White and the Catamounts their best season in several years, with a record of 17 and 8. Potomac State was crowned the regular season Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference champions with a 9-1 regular season record. PSC finished as the runners-up in the WPCC tournament. During his tenure Coach White has had numerous players move onto four-year programs.
White is a 1989 graduate of Keyser High School in Keyser, WV where he was three year starter in football, basketball, and baseball. He continued his baseball and academic career at Potomac State College where he played baseball for Potomac State College Hall of Fame Coach Jack Reynolds.
The Keyser native graduated with an Associates Degree from Potomac State College in Physical Education. White continued his education at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Health as well as Master's Degree in Athletic Coaching Education.
White is married to the former Amy K. Landes; they are the proud parents of three boys: Ethan, Camden, and Jackson.
