Simmons Qualifies for NJCAA DIII Championships

Zac Simmons will be representing Potomac State at the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Canandaigua, NY

Keyser, WV- Potomac State College of WVU freshman standout Zac Simmons qualified for the 2014 NJCAA DIII Cross Country National Championships.

Simmons qualified for the championships by finishing 4th overall at the NJCAA DIII Region XX Championships earning him All-Region honors. Simons led the Catamounts all season including 3 top 10 individual finishes while leading Potomac State to the team title at the Penn State of Greater Allegheny Invitational and a Runner-Up performance at the Region XX Championships. Through Simmons leadership the Catamounts rose to unprecedented heights this season by being ranked as high as 9th in the nation.

Potomac State College Head Coach Ian Hankins stated, "I am proud with Zac's achievements this year, especially for him earning a spot at the National Championships. Zac has been a leader from day one by being a front runner in races helping our program start off with a bang in our inaugural season. I'm excited to watch Zac run this weekend at the National Championships as the Potomac State Cross Country program continues to reach new milestones in our inaugural year."

The Berkeley Springs native will run at the NJCAA DIII National Championships on Saturday, November 8th on the campus of Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY
