Men’s Cross Country: Catamounts impress at historic Gettysburg course

Gettysburg, Pa- The Potomac State Harriers were back in action at the 27th Annual Gettysburg College Bullets Invitational.  This invitational, the largest in the region featured 34 teams (including NCAA D1, NCAA D2, NCAA D3, NAIA and NJCAA teams) and 240 runners.  Freshman Jared Hallow (Gerradstown, WV) led the Catamounts with a 24th place finish.  Hallow’s time of

26:51 shattered the Potomac State 8k school record by 94 seconds!  Next across the line for the navy and gold was Greg Dirlik (Silver Spring, MD) who posted a career best time of 30:04.  Rounding out the scoring for the Catamounts was Pierce Miller (Keyser, WV), Markis Grayson Aldridge (Kailua-Kona, HI), and Matthew Spencer (Baltimore, MD).

Potomac State finished 17th overall with 487 points.  Potomac State was the top finishing NJCAA team.

Salisbury University won the team title with 95 points

Jaryd Flank of Muhlenberg won the individual title with a time of 25:29

“Today was a great result as we had 8 seasonal bests with 7 career bests and especially Jared’s 94 second school record.  I was proud with how we handled the best competition we have seen all year and we held our own in our final tune-up before regionals.  I’m excited to see how we race next weekend at the Regional Championship!” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins

Potomac State competes for a Regional Championship on Saturday, October 24th at Hagerstown Community College for the Region XX Championship, the men are slated to go off at 11:00 AM.
