Frostburg, MD- The Catamount Harriers braved the inclement weather bought on by the remnants of Hurricane Joaquin as we made the short trek to Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg, MD for the 2015 FSU Bobcat Invitational. Freshman Jared Hallow (Gerradstown, WV) continues to impress as he finished runner-up once again (his 4th consecutive 2nd place finish). Hallow’s performance on a difficult hilly course with sloppy conditions narrowly missed the school record of 28:25 by 3 seconds. Freshman Gregory Dirlik (Silver Spring, MD) followed Hallow closely as he just missed the podium with an 11th place finish in a career best time. Rounding out the scoring for Potomac State was Pierce Miller (23rd), Markis Grayson Aldridge (26th) and Matthew Spencer (30th) to lead the Catamounts back on the podium with a 3rd place finish.

Pitt-Johnstown Kyle Zenchak won the individual title covering the course in 28:23.

Pitt Johnstown (NCAA D2) won the 8 team invite with 23 points to edge out Frostburg State (43 points) and Potomac State (69 points).

“I was once again proud of the way the men competed especially how Jared and Greg did their thing up front and how Pierce, Grayson and Matt worked together as a pack. Jared is having an incredible year; I don’t think I’ve ever seen something finish in the same position every single race. We are in a great spot and can only improve from here on out as we approach the Regional Championships,” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins

Potomac State is off next weekend before concluding the regular season on Saturday, October 17th at the Gettysburg College Invitational in Gettysburg, PA with the men set to start at 10:30 AM.
