Men’s Cross Country: Hallow places 2nd at AB Seaton Invitational

Phillippi, WV- The Catamount Cross Country Program was back in action this weekend as they made the short trek by traveling to instate rival Alderson Broaddus University for the 2015 AB Seaton Invitational hosted at the Barbour County Fairgrounds.  It was a raining day which made for extremely muddy conditions on a difficult course consisting of several steep inclines and a few creek crossings.  The Potomac State Harriers battled up front in fierce competition against NCAA DII institutions.  The Catamounts had three runners place atop the podium led by Jared Hallow (2nd) and followed closely by Gregory Dirlik (6th) and Matthew Spencer (10th).  Markis Aldridge (11th) and Zachary Green (13th) rounded out the scoring for the Cats to lead Potomac State to a runner-up performance.

Caleb Pell from the host Alderson Broaddus won the individual title

Ohio Valley won the team title 26 to Potomac State’s 29 points.

“It was a very difficult day today as we not only had to overcome the elements of rain and mud, but it was a very hilly and challenging course.   This is what true cross country is all about.  I’m proud of the men with how they stepped it up today and battled well with NCAA DII competition.  Losing by 3 points and having 5 place in the top 13 is nothing to be ashamed of,” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins.

The Catamounts will be back in action on Saturday, September 26th at the Hornet Harrier Invitational at the Kernstown Battlefield hosted by Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.
