Hagerstown, MD- The Potomac State Harriers took their talent to the course this weekend to face off against USTFCCCA #2 Howard for the Region XX Cross Country Championships.  Once again Jared Hallow (Gerradstown, WV) led the Catamounts by winning his first career race by winning the Gold to earn All-Region Honors in a course record time of 27:18.  Joining Hallow on the All-Region Team was Greg Dirlik (Silver Spring, MD) who ran a career best time of 29:42 to place 5th overall.  Pierce Miller (Keyser, WV) closely followed Dirlik by just missing the podium in 6th with a career best time of 30:02.  Rounding out the scoring for Potomac State was Markis Grayson Aldridge (13th) and Matthew Spencer (15th).  Also contributing to the Catamount runner-up efforts were Zachary Green (18th), Marcus Garey (21st) and Aaron Burke (22nd).

#2 Howard edged out Potomac State for the Region XX Championship by a score of 35-24.

Potomac State’s Jared Hallow won the Region XX Individual Title with a time of 27:18

“I was extremely impressed with the way the men ran today.  We gave the second best team in the country a run for their money, but fell a little short as we ran out of real estate in the end.  Jared ran an incredible gutsy race to win his first career race wire to wire as we are peaking at the right time headed into the National Championships.  Also I was really happy with how Greg earned All-Region Honors and how Pierce placed in the top 7 to qualify to nationals individually.  I’m excited to see Jared, Greg and Pierce run at the National Championships on November 7th and hopefully our entire men’s squad will be able to join them once bids are announced Monday,” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins.
