Catamounts Men's Soccer improves to 3-0 with shutout win

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jesse Casto scored a goal in the first half and assisted on one in the second half as Potomac State collected its third straight win over a four-year school with a 4-0 win over Gallaudet Wednesday in college soccer action in Washington D.C.

Casto got the Catamounts their first point when he converted a penalty kick 4:20 into the first half. The score jumped to 2-0 when Guidel Juzman scored, unassisted, from from 20 yards out with less than five minute remaining in the half.

Potomac State, which outshot the Bison 21-7, got its third goal when Casto fed Trey Ogilvie nine minutes into the closing half. The fourth goal was scored in the 30th minute of the second half when Riccardo Murphy booted a penalty kick.

Conor Fungaroli and Brian Pruett picked up one save each as the Cats’ goalies, while J.P. Karzo had 13 saves in the loss.

PSC (3-0) will face their first junior college of the season on Saturday when it visits the College of Southern Maryland at 2 p.m. Southern Maryland began the week ranked No. 20 in the country in NJCAA Division I.
