Potomac State Men's Soccer hands Lord Fairfax first loss
MIDDLETOWN, Va. — Potomac State College scored two first-half goals on its way to handing Lord Fairfax Community College its first loss of the season, 3-0, Wednesday in men’s junior college soccer at Lord Fairfax.
Trey Oglivie put the Catamounts on the board at 4:22 of the first with an unassisted goal. Former Mountain Ridge Miner Justin Winebrenner followed with a goal at 33:29 on an assist by Dan Brailler to put the halftime score at 2-0.
Jesse Casto concluded the scoring with a goal at 48:49 on an assist by Juan Flores.
Potomac State outshot Lord Fairfax 15-5 and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Conor Fungaroli saved nine shots in goal for Potomac State. Andrew Fouriner saved 11 for Lord Fairfax (2-1).
Potomac State (4-1) will host Westmoreland County Community College Wednesday at Stayman Field.
