Oglivie's hat trick lifts Potomac State Soccer
KEYSER, W.Va. — Trey Oglivie scored the hat trick to help the Potomac State College men’s soccer team to a victory in its Region XX opener, 6-1, over Westmoreland County Community College Wednesday night at Stayman Field.
Oglivie scored the first two goals of the match, the first at 8:52 on an assist by Steven Holtschneider, the second at 22:00 on an assist by Sam Crickenberger.
Jesse Casto followed with a goal assisted by Zach Saylor at 35:33, before Dane Mangery got Westmoreland on the board at 39:59 on an assist by Henry Almed. Oglivie then scored on a penalty kick at 44:00 to make the score 4-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Garrett Kiddy scored for the Catamounts at 58:22 on an assist from David Annandale. Henry Herkes concluded the scoring at 88:42 on an assist from Cody Wedge.
Potomac State outshot Westmoreland 13-5 and held a 4-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Conor Fungaroli had five saves for Potomac State while Zach Patton had four for Westmoreland.
Potomac State, (5-1), will be right back in action as they play back-to-back days and will host Allegany today at 4 p.m.
