Men's Soccer: Potomac State shuts out Westmoreland

KEYSER, W.V. — Potomac State got goals Chris Ranker and Steve Holtschneider and another shutout from Conor Fungaroli during a 2-0 win over Westmoreland at Stayman Field.

Ranker scored an unassisted goal at the 2:25 mark of first half, while Holtschneider scored unassisted in the second.

The win improves Potomac State to 11-1 overall and 4-1 against Region XX teams. The Catamounts are just outside the Top 10 in the NJCAA National poll as a team also receiving votes.

Fungaroli made one save in the team’s fourth straight shutout. Derek Walter had three saves for the Wolfpack.

The Cats carried a 20-8 advantage in shots and 5-1 in corner kicks.

Potomac State will try for its 12th victory when it travels to Christendom on Wednesday.
