Men's Soccer: Catamount breeze past Westmoreland

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Four players scored as the Potomac State College men’s soccer team opened Region XX, Division III play Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Westmoreland Community College.

Sahr Matturi scored the first goal for the Catamounts unassisted 4:15 into the game. Trey Oglivie then took an assist from Gudie Guzman at 12:55 to make it 2-0 at the half.

Caleb Gall opened the scoring in the second half at 57:50 on a Zachary Saylor assist, before Jordan Cook scored on an assist by Garrett Kiddy at 84:45 to close the scoring.

Potomac State outshot Westmoreland, 13-3, with a 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Conor Fungaroli had two saves for the Catamounts and Andrew Essig had one. Aaron Bair had eight saves for Westmoreland (1-2-1).

Potomac State (5-0) will play Friday, 3:30 p.m., at Hagerstown.
