Keyser, WV- The life-line of any successful college athletic program is the ability to recruit quality student-athletes. The recruiting trail can get long as coaches travel far and wide looking for the player that might be the difference for next season.
Potomac State's Ray Kiddy has done just that over the last few seasons. But the signing he announced today required just walking to the breakfast table as he has added his son Gabe Kiddy to the mix for the Catamounts next fall.
"Gabe has good ball skills and great decision making. I am sure being around soccer all of his life has assisted in both areas, said Coach Kiddy. "He will bring great leadership qualities."
This is not the first time Kiddy will have the father-son connection as his older son, Garrett just finished his two years at PSC.
"Garrett played for me the past two years and we both had a great experience. He scored 6 goals and 4 assists and was a starter his sophomore year. I am proud as any parent but more proud of how my sons of handle me as the coach. If you watch a practice or game, you would not know Garrett was my son until after a victory and we hug. I think we both handled the situation very professional and I know that Gabe will also."
