Men’s Soccer: Lee’s hat trick leads Potomac State over Corning

CORNING, N.Y. — Brandon Lee scored three goals — two in the first half — as Potomac State came from behind to remain undefeated with a 3-1 victory against Corning (N.Y.) CommunityCollege Sunday afternoon.

Lee’s first goal, on Leo Sanchez’s assist, tied the game at 1-1 at the 21:20 mark of the first half.

His second goal from Brett Vanderhout’s feed with less than three minutes before halftime gave the Catamounts a 2-1 lead at the break.

Corning took a 1-0 lead five minutes after the game’s start when Mbemba Sanu scored on Kody Gregory’s assist.

Lee gave Potomac State a two-goal lead with more than seven minutes to play on Ryan Mowery’s assist.

Potomac State (6-0) outshot Corning 9-5 and both teams had six corner kicks.

The Catamounts’ Chris Orwig and Alec Sproule combined to make five saves with Sproule stopping three. Corning’s Joseph Collins made five stops.

Potomac State will host Blue Ridge Community College on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
